Akiharu Kobori founded KOBORI factory, a manufacture of watch parts, in Hashiba-cho, Asakusa-ku.
Mar. 1945
Moved to Midorigaoka, Meguro-ku due to war damage.
Dec. 1953
Reorganized to KOBORI Manufacturing Co., Ltd. (Capital 500,000 yen)
Yoshirou Kobori assumed the Pesidency.
May 1957
Moved to the head office location and erected a new factory (Yaguchi, Ota-ku, Tokyo)
Sep. 1961
Established Iwase Factory in Tomobe, Sakuragawa-shi, Ibaraki-ken.
Mar. 1966
President Yoshiro Kobori received the Medal with Dark Blue Ribbon award.
Nov. 1969
Rebuilt the head office to a five-story building.
Sep. 1971
Established Oe Factory in Oe-machi, Yamagata-ken.
Mar. 1974
Established Marukei Sangyo Co., Ltd. for sales promotion.
Oct. 1976
Established Nishikawa Factory in Nishikawa-machi Yamagata-ken.
Feb. 1978
Increased the capital to 250 million yen.
Mar. 1979
Established Yachi Factory in Yachi Kahoku-machi Yamagata-ken. Started manufacturing optical lenses.
1982
Started consignment sales of "Tefnon lenses" in Japan.
Oct. 1993
Increased the most advanced machine to improve the productivity and processing accuracy of metal parts.
Dec. 1995
Kihachi Kobori assumed the presidency.
Nov. 1998
Started Introducing new machinery for manufacturing large-diameter lenses.
Mar. 2001
Katsuhisa Kobori assumed the presidency.
Nov. 2002
Established a joint venture company "栄成富源小堀電光有限公司" in China.
Sep. 2005
Started consignment manufacturing with Precision Co., Ltd. in Bangladesh, to which Marukei Sangyo Co., Ltd. invested.
Sep. 2006
All 4 factories acquired ISO14001.
Sep. 2008
Extended Oe Factory to support high-precision products and low-volume parts as well.
Aug. 2009
Etsuro Kobori assumed the presidency.
Jul. 2010
Established a new clean room in Nishikawa Factory to secure assembling high-quality products.
Apr. 2011
Established a new clean room in Yachi Factory for high-quality lens and prism coating.
Dec. 2011
Etsuro Kobori assumed the presidency and Tatsuharu Nanko assumed the vice-presidency.
Oct. 2012
Established a new clean room in Oe Factory to secure assembling high-quality products.
Jul. 2013
Reduced the capital to 100 million yen.
Sep. 2013
As the 60th anniversary of the company establishment, Enterprise Resource Planning system was introduced.
Dec. 2013
Etsuro Kobori assumed the office of chairman and Tatsuharu Nanko assumed the presidency.
Mar. 2014
As the 60th anniversary of the company establishment, Iwase Factory was rebuilt, and its name was changed to "Ibaraki Factory".
Oct. 2014
Nishikawa and Oe factories were merged and renamed as "Yamagata First Factory".
Yachi Factory was renamed as "Yamagata Second Factory" accordingly.
Jan. 2015
Shifted the company system to a holding company system under which Kobori Holdings assumed a role as a wholly-owning parent company.
Jun. 2019
Expanded Oe Factory and relocated Nishikawa and Yachi Factory to its site. The 3 factories were consolidated and renamed as "Yamagata Factory".
